We are all human and we tend to accumulate more things that can be stored in an organized manner. That is why it makes sense to declutter and organize your house. The idea is to start out by getting rid of 21 items a day and as you get more organized once a week and then once a month. Number 21 is just a random number, but it seems to work well. Getting rid of things does not mean literally putting them to garbage; it can also mean donating the items or giving them back. To start this organizing tip take 3 bags or 3 plastic containers and go to a room for example a living room or just pick one area like the shelf under your TV. Once you are there with your bags/containers start to look through the items in the room or on the shelf and sort out things that are garbage, need to be donated and returned to people and put these items into one of the 3 bags accordingly. For example, if you see an empty box you no longer need simply put it into garbage (recycling) or if you come across library books put it into a “give back” bag. So the only items that should be left in the area are the things that should be there. Also, if something does not belong in the room also put it into a separate bag or a “give back” bag. This rule will help to make sure that all items in your home have a place and that you are keeping only the things that you like, use and that are in good condition. At first when I heard about this I thought ok for one week it will work and after I will have nothing to put into these bags, but I found out that after a month I do it only once a month and go through the whole house or a couple of rooms instead of just one.
